well like the title says, i was being a dumbass turning around in a gravel parking lot and popped the ebrake and instead of dropping it, i decided to try to see how long i could keep it going. well i hot a fence pole from a chainlink fence, i was able to fix the fence there, but then i looked at the car, it broke the front neon, looks like it bent the ac condensor, and ate up my bumper pretty good, all arnt looking to bad till i looked at my hood... it busted it up pretty good. my question is, is it possible to sand the hood down below the dammage, or to the bottom of the gelcoat and fix it without it looking like ass??? i am gonna take it down to my body shop and get them to look at it tues... just bad timing like everything else... i just got the neons on, less than a week ago, and i got new seats on the way, so i am tapped... i am gonna see if work can front me some money to try to get it fixed by the 10th-11th.... hopefully i will still be able to show her at the big show... Dammit this sucks... anyways any experiance with this sort of thing? i was looking at getting a carbon images hood soon, just was hopping for it to not be this soon....
you only need 1 . after a sentence
whats wrong w/ the hood? is there actual damage to the hood or is it just all scratched up from the fence?
teaches you for being a dumbass eh. well i guess some people have to learn the hard way
oh well hop it all works out for ya. as for the hood when you say "it got busted up pretty bad" i don't think some minor sanding is gonna fix it. but i wouldn't be abel to tel w/o some pics. and according to your profile saying you have a cf hood id say its probly cracked.
well i just ran out back and snapped some pictures, well its not cracked, there is a minor crack that looks more like a scratch that stemmed from a chip in the hood form a stone, but other than that it doesnt seem to be cracked at all. i am kind of suprised... well here is the picture
you can sand down the clear coat, make sure you do NOT hit the CF weave!
feather it all out, then have it recleared!
thats what ViS does with 40% of thier hoods that have clear coat damage

well i will look into sanding down the hood, i am just afraid it might be to deep. i gotta either straighten the bumper support or look into another, gotta get the bumper off and see how bad that is, i dont imagine its too bad, but we wil see... @!#$ gravel. it was soooo tempting
i would partially paint some of the hood, look better that way anyway but the gelcoat can be repaired
/\ igotta agree with him, just in my taste i like lines to flow a little better like he has his going along with the lines in his (feel free to correct me on the name) invader hood. and with just a c/f hood it really disturbes that
i have been looking into this, but i cant find a clean way to pull it off, i dont see a good way to break the paint, from gelcoat, the evo hood makes it a bit worse... any suggestions would be great. thanks
