what kind of relay do i use for the 2k headlight conversion? because my drivers fuse keeps blowing, and the light goes dim
and where can i get it?
i know some people used it, where can i buy them?
Any auto parts store sells relays for a couple bucks.
Bosch is a good name, but I can't say I've ever seen a bad one. They are SPST (Single Pole Single Throw).

just cut your DRL light. Mine was doing that, and i cut out the DRL's and it stoped.
Remove the dash pad
Remove the MAIN harness to the cluster
There Cut the smalliest blue wire. It will be located right next to a purple wire towards the center of the harness.
tape both ends of the wire
It should stop you from blowing fuses. So far its been great on my car, as I just recently completed the swap myself.
(search for DRL disable... John Lenko made the post, but make sure to read the enitre topic. The first half of it is wrong. But the problem is later resolved on page 2 of the post)

^^ u dont have to disconnect the main harness to the cluster.. i didnt anyway..
Pin B8.. thin dark blue wire. I had the same problem.. snip... no more problems. Oh yea, replace the fuse.
i need to keep the drl's, i need my car to be safetied b4 i can reregister it
how do DRLs determine if ur car is safe? they dont do anything but have your brights on at 50% while the car is in any moving gear.. there not on older vehicles and i dont think they should even be required..
ya but they are, so im doin what i can to keep them so i can drive my car, ill cut the wire l8er if needed
they might not realise that you have them... take your chances and snip it. If they say bring it back with DRL's than reconnect the wire. Just make sure you leave enought to re-connect it.
Lord knows if I had my car inspected for registration (thankfully i didn't have to) i probably would of never gotten there. I still don't have high beams 'cause im too lazy to fix my wiring problem in the swap. and the dealer that installed the motor, didn't even tighten all the tranny bolts
Anywhom, just give it a shot. Its going to take you a few seconds to do.
(and I removed my harness just so i could insure that i had enough wire exposed if i had to reconnect. lol
