thats fine..i get rejected from one guy saying it'll look really weird with tint on the rear since i have those damn ceramic dots...and the tint wont stick...just change it a different color...another guy mentioned he can put vinyl on hit...but will vinyl not make my defroster work that well??
lol I don't know what the other guy is talking about... I have tint on my rear window, and I also have those dots and it worked fine...
Just cover the dots, they dont do anything, and tint the rest.
Those little ceramic dots really do not have anything to do with it at all. The is just being lazy. On an 05' ION that I had, I had the windows tinted and the back window with those little ceramic dots played no part in it at all. The tint went right over them and stuck. As far as looking weird, all depends on what you think is weird, looked fine to me. The entire window was tinted all was fine. I am thinking that this guy said it would not stick is either he is a retard and doesn't really know what he is doing, or the shop would have been closed after the car was done. Go somewhere else and get it done, but those little ceramic dots have absolutely nothing to do with it at all, the tint will stick just fine.
right on...thanks guys
i hate dealing with losers or people just trying to make an extra buck
if its a good tint shop they should be able to tint over it
there is no problem withthe dots but spend a little extra to get it done right the guy that tinted mine used one piece of film and it is not dyed so it has a life time fade warrenty i sanded the dots smooth before he did it it looks awsome

Just got my windows done tonight and they look awsome!! Best $200 I've spent in awhile. 20% all around. As far as dots, go back and punch that guy and tell him he now has a dot!!

Mine had to get painted over in the back because it kept bubbling when i got it tinted
I had a shop put a strip of black vinyl over the dots. From the outside you cant tell the difference and it looks fine inside too. Even if you dont use vinyl a good shop should be able to make the tint look good over the dots

X3
The shops around here will not warrenty the tint if they install it accross the dots so no one around here does it.
They all use a vinyl strip on the inside tha you can't see from the outside.
And yes I went to a good shop ( HP Racing ) that does the computer cut tint and they said they can't gaurentee it so they don't do it at all.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.

Pretty much the same here.
Ok so get your windows tinted... itll be fine, its not gonna look the best up by the dots so you have them paint the 4'' or w/e it is black. It looks great, i had it done to mine and everything works fine. Also having it super dark at the top works well for decals, makes them stand out real nice.
The place I got mine tinted at weekend before last tinted over them, and it's not sticking very well at all, even with me going out most every day and pressing it on
I know that guy out here that works at a few of the shops here, he is awsome at tinting. He has tinted a car of mine over the dots and the tint, there is absolutely nothing wrong, no bubbles, no peeling, it is sticking. If the person knows what they are doing and it is done correctly it will stay there and look great.
^^^^^^^^^^^ What he said... I had mine tinted over the dots... NO VINYL WHAT-SO-EVER.... and it looks freakin awesome...
kind of an odd question but does anyone know why they put those dots on there in the first place?

RIP Saint...Semper Fi.
after visiting all the local tint shops around where i live, not ONE of them could tint the dot matrix! they all would cut it off at the top.
so i finally settled on one guy that said he would try it, and if i didn't like the way it looked, he would cut it off. it came out looking splotchy, so he cut it off

Its for sun shading supposedly. They know a lot of folks don't tint they're windows so they put it on there to control sun, glare, blah, blah coming in. Intrepids and larger Ford pickups are a couple examples I know of that have it across the windshield right in front of the rearview mirror too.
I jinxed myself by posting earlier and having "no" problems. Something on my passenger side rubbed and now I have a thin streak about 3 inches long. Going to get it redone cuz it's driving me crazy. Hopefully what ever made this happend can be moved out of the way.
