Ok so i messed up my front bummper today and need to fix it... the paint isnt bad nothign some touch of paint wont fix but as far us the bottom its cracked the fiberglass and is in very bad shape... i dont care what it will look like since no one will often be looking under the car but what are some good ways to repair the fiberglass??? I was wondering if there wer any bondo type products and also how else could i make it stronger..... this is the pic of the front bummper (without the damg)
you need to fix it with fiberglass. if you dont, it will continue to crack. you need to relieve the stress and fix w.e cracks there are. all of them. if not, just cut it out on the bottom, the part thats damaged if you actaully dont care about it.

thats kinda what i was thinking.. kept readin the post thinkin i was missing something.. cuz i thought it was a easy enough of a answer..
Its not hard to fix it with fiberglass..and if u fix it right it can be stronger and more durable in that spot then it originally was..

"bondo" is a brand. more specifically, it is a brand of body filler and fiberlgass materials. most people associate "bondo" with body filler and think that it is a patch. it's not. body filler is used in moderation to even low spots, not to fix body panels.
your best bet will be to sand the area down, use fiberglass cloth and resin, make sure it's sturdy, sand it smooth, use body filler as necessary, and paint. it sounds easy, and it can be as long as you follow directions.
please don't just slap some "bondo" on it and call it done, cause you'll just be making more work for yourself (or anybody else who tries fixing it later).

dont forget whenever you repair a fiberglass crack. always drill a hole at the end of the crack to prevent the crack from getting bigger.
I say fixit with duct tape and try painting that....
Or fix it right but sanding it down, 'glassing it, and repainting it.

ok we can forget this joker...
but for real i have to repair some as well...
gonna try the fiberglass cloth and resin....also the drilled hole.
good stuff on this thread...
You can go to any auto parts store, and for 12 dollars you get a fiberglass repair kit. Heck I even think Walmart carries it.
You basically just use the fiberglass cloth, and create your own layer over the crack.
If it were a hole on the other hand, you can use meshing to fill the gap and then fiberglass over top of it.
It can make your bumper way stronger, and please for the love of jbodys, save the duct tape for the red green show (Canadians will understand)
hope that helps
also make sure you sand/scuff wherever you're going to put new fiberglass, and don't be afraid to overlap it.
I also always recommend using fiberglass mat instead of cloth.
