cheap and easy '04 Sunfire mods
Tuesday, August 15, 2006 3:29 PM
OK, I'm basically noob of noobs. I have a stock automatic 04 Sunfire and was wanting suggestions on relatively cheap and easy mods to the exterior and performance. Also I'm in the market for a better sound system. Suggestions are greatly appreciated. And like I say, I have little to no modding experience

not to be a party pooper but nothing will come cheap if you want it to last. It also depends on what you consider cheap to be. All I can say is maybe some lowering springs with struts and shocks to match, wheels, lip kit, exhaust, intake.

All depends on how much money you're willing to dish out and the quality of parts you're looking for. If you're looking for cheap prices and poor/average quality, hit up ebay and look for anything you'd like to change, headlights, tailights, air intakes, mufflers, bodykits for under $500 quality of those i would def. be cautious about, racing seats, shift knobs, visors with tv's in them, anything you can probly think of. The more expensive well known brand name things will be alot more expensive but some websites are

Read every faq/sticky on this site before modding, research EVERYTHING before going ahead wih it, don't ever post a question without searching for the answeer first( no one wants to spoon feed you). Honestly you say you have no modding experience, reading is your friend now, better to learn from other mistakes then lose money making your own.

Clear HVAC knobs, PRICE... free. Just take the rubber off the knobs and if you want to color them get some translucent paint and make them whatever color you want!!

Thanks! yeah I'm trying to read as much as I can and do lots of research. Thanks Lance Sharpe for the websites. I'm looking to spend about $1000 tops at the moment, but that may change.

$1000?? That will get you . . .

Nice Exhaust System w/Intake
or...
New Rims/Tires
or...
A bodykit w/out painting
or...
Neon lights and new seats?
or...

Ya know, $1000 is a pretty decent ground to start. You have a lot of options open, but it all depends what you want to go with more.

i'd start with shocks and lowering springs. that'll eat the grand right up, and you'll be a corner carver.

Yeah, great mod would be to do suspension first. Some strut tower bars, lowering springs, and struts, with a sub frame brace. That would be about 1g, and yield a really nice looking and handling car.
