Next weekend i'm going to be painting my car (first time i've ever done it), with the help of my grandpa who used to do that stuff. I wanted ultra silver metallic, but metallic is supposedly very hard to do, so is there a non-metallic color similar to it? If not does anyone know a website that shows different auto paint colors and there "technical names". I know i can go to the paint shop i'm buying the paint from and ask them, but i don't really have free time until then, and i don't want to wait until the day of painting to figure it out. Thanks for any help
Metallics are only difficult in the sense that there is a particular way you need to spray them in order for the metallics to lay evenly. With a flat color (no metallics or pearls), it's easier, because you don't have to worry as much about the color looking uneven or irregular.
So, if your grandpa is helping you and he knows what he's doing... you'll be fine... do what color you want
