Does the hood shut with the Weapon R intake? Because the Weapon R intake is notorious for hitting/rubbing the underside of the hood and tearin up the hood's fire protection pad. People always got around it with duct tape in the area it was rubbing to reduce the damage. But since it is a C/F hood I'm assuming it doesn't have that pad. So you may have to get a new intake, such at the AEM or RKSport intake.
Now if you hood just doesn't shut, and everything is lined up, you will most likely have to change the intake. Its all because Weapon R went with the bigger intake connection plenum. There just isn't anyway around the rub/hit with that intake, atleast not to my knowlage.
I have the RK intake on my car. When I went to install my invader hood it hit the intake pretty bad. I had to raise the latch up to get it close. The hood still rubbed the intake a little bit. Thats the bad part with the invader and the ECO.
on my AEM intake it rubs the pad(is that what its for? Fire Protection?) anyway.. i took the coupler out and cut as much off as i could that goes around the TB.. basically shortened the coupler about a inch.. that let it sit down further on the TB and it minimized the rubbing.. after lookin at my friend's car with the pag i realize he just cut a hole for the intake to miss it so i might need to do that still..
you'll need the shorter latch from an 00-02
