question bout 95-99 and 02 rear ends...

ok, i have a 2002 z24/ls sport rear bumper im going to be gettin painted and put on next spring... my ? is... can i re-use the crush guard sterofoam deally?

or am i gonna hafta find one from a 00-02?

I think you can use the same? If not you can always trim it to fit!

depends on the rear bumper that came originally.. I believe if u have teh base rear bumper on ur 99, the 00 will fit directly over it.. not 100% sure tho.. if u have a 99 z24 the crushguard is lower.. but if u have a z24 the crushguard comes out with 6-8 simple push pin retainers.. pull it out.. and its styrofoam on the 95-99 z24s so its easy to cut.. so cut it as needed.. I had a little electric chain saw i used to cut mine for the import fighter rear and it cut easily.. but my method i was even able to cut plastic crushguards for a friends car easily too lol. So if u have a sawzall or hack saw it might be a tad tougher.. the crushguard is styrofoam yes.. but its solid..

yup, mine's a 98 z24...
ive taken the front off before, but never the rear.

i've had a 00 base on my 99 base without a problem (besides the filler pieces under the tail lights).

yeah, i havnt decided just what i want to do with those filler pieces as of yet...

i think im leaning towards keeping the stock ones and chopping them off the 02 bumper.

what do you guys think?
