hey guys I live in Ontario where we need to have a front plate or we get a pesky ticket. with my streetfire front my car runs hot all the time unless it is freezing out because the plate covers alot of the rad. I was wondering if anyone else has had this proble and if there is a way around it. I have noticed if I take the plate off the car runs right at normal which is 90celsius.
Put it in ur window? or zip tie it off the side of the mesh angled over onto the bumper
in the window they give me a ticket....they are dicks around here... i keep it off to the side like in the big mouth.. i have tried many variations...any more ideas
drill into the bumper and mount it on the bumper.. cant do to much other then that.. got a pic so i can visualize it?
with plate (kind of bad angle )
without plate, good angle
and there are grills in the side vents too
im from Wa and up here they will pull u over for the same reason...then if u put it in ur window they say it could become a hazard if u are in an accident because it could be thrown across the car(might hit someone)....BUT there is a solution!..if u put ur visor down on the passenger side and mount the plate on the back side of it ...u will be able to see it threw the front window..plus its held in place and doesent looktoo bad either...i think its kind of a good lil "mod" i guess u could say

damn i have a tinted strip across the top of my windshield......oh well.....gotta find another way....I am actually thinking of mounting it to the bumper off to the side of the big mouth
what about mounting just under the grill? Looks like it could fit there to me. and if you are worried about the plate messing up your paint, use the inner tube of a bicycle tire as padding.
^^ thats what i was thinking.. attach to to the bottom of the mesh and let it hang down to lip of the bumper.. should be fine..
/\___ so my description was good then, i wasn't sure
yeah i see what u r saying i will give it a try but i just have to find a way to secure the bottom. remember the streetfire front is LOW and it scrapes here and there but mostly on the corners so i will test the waters with this one
well it should hang down fine.. it shouldnt really flap around much.. but if i were u id go buy some black rubber or foam or something and cover the edges and back of the plate with it so it doesnt knick up ur bumper and it wont make much sound either if its bouncing on the bumper.. as long as u secure the top good it should be fine.. i know my plate is only held on with 2 bolts and it doesnt flap around..
you have other problems if your car is overheating... most cars have less airflow to the rad than you have

2 things. Did you remove the long skinny black piece that sits under the radiator near the ground? Did you remove the stock radiator cover under the hood (the piece that boxes in the rad. from the radiator support to bumper? It looks like this:http://www.rksport.com/main/part_detail.asp?itemid=472&appid=109&mdid=2&catid=4
yeah it isn't overheating but in the summer it runs hot til the fan kicks in then as soon as the fan cools it, it just goes right back up and the cycle continues. I didn't remove the air dam at the bottom but i do have the rad cover on the top off. I have tried with it on and off and makes no difference. When I used to have the rk ram air hood I had no problems , my car would actually run cooler than normal with the ram air. So cold in fact that during the winter I would have to plug the ram air!
