Bought from E-bay a like 2 years ago, and the black paint around the outside bezel is starting to come off. Can't return for warranty, so wanted to take them off and repaint. Problem is, there are three screws on the back, but wont let the front plastic seperate from the main housing, and won't be able to repaint all sections that are peeling. Does anybody know how to dis-assemble these lights? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Those 3 "screws" are what attach the taillight to the car. There really isnt a way to disassemble the lights without tearing them up, and probably breaking the light lense itself.
Just tape off the lense and repaint the border of the tail lights; yes will need to spend some time getting the lense all masked off, but with some patience and time should not be too hard, and if that dont work you may have to just put nightshdes on them.
OR.... you can probally get a vinyl place to put a black vinyl border over the painted black border area around the tail lights; may look weird; not sure; or could look pretty good; or you could use a different color of vinyl like chrome to border the tails, i dont know just some ideas
Hope all works out for ya.
If ya can you should post some pics of the tails where the paint is coming off so we can see up close how bad it is.
