Hood problem/Hood selection help
Wednesday, February 07, 2007 6:50 PM
Hey guys im sure i can get some kind of answer on here, always do..my hood on the passenger side is warped. It flex's up about a half an inch to an inch right now, its carbon fiber, i dont know if its the cold weather here, but when spring time comes is there anything i can do to possibly make it go back down to normal. (maybe warming it up and trying to put it back down?)

I really dont wanna get a new hood, but if so, where is the best/cheapest place to get one now days? i know i want cf, probably just the oem, or maybe a different one if i can get a good deal

Thanks!

i dont think hood pins will work, the part thats warped is the part where it lines up to the fender along the side, not toward the bottom, i dont know though? if needed i can get a pic up tomorrow.

Mine did that too along the drivers side where the hood meets the fender. It stuck up anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 inch. From the side it actually looked like the hood was popped. I actually had several people ask me why my hood was popped. So I put pins in the outside 2 bump stops and just used those to pull it down. Works great made the hood look like it was shut, and a little extra security.

I have the same problem with my Erebuni OEM C/F hood...... could be the cold though. If it doesnt come back once it warms up, I'm going to try laying it down flat, out in the sun, and apply some weight on the hood. See if that helps. If not, it can always go on the drag car (only paid $275 shipped for it, brand new from Nopi)

You can try adjusting your bump stops and see if that helps. If not then try the latch itself along with the bump stops. Or you can try some spacers on the fender bolts itself.

I put spacers between the hinge and hood, raised that up a tad, then lowered all the bump stops and the hood latch itself. It lines up nice up front, and in back....... just arches up in the to much.
