Hey,
After spinnin my car off the freeway I'm going to have to repaint my trunk, door, and possibly my rear bumper.
What all do I need to paint and how much of it??
I was talking to Josh (wojo) and he said primer, reducer, hardener, flex agent, base coat, and clear coat. Is this right or is there anything I'm gonna need/not need. Also, how much of these things am I going to need?? What are some good brands that aren't really expensive but that are still good quality??
Also, does anyone know of any places online that I could check prices at??
Thanks for any help.

I just woke up (first full day not running a fever after having the flu) so my brain isn't fully functioning yet...
but who's painting it and how much experience do they have?
I was hopin you'd pop in, lol.
It's the same guy that is gonna fix my car. He has quite a bit of experience.

honestly if he's going to be painting it... I'd ask him how much paint you should get. Reason I asked that (just making sure lol... i thought it might be him but didn't want to assume)... anyway reason i asked was because each painter ends up using different amounts of paint for the same job. All depends on how they spray, how they were taught to spray, etc.
Well I know it took him a quart to do the front clip.
What other stuff do i need like hardner and stuff?

talk to your painter and ask him what HE wants you to get. If you get PPG, and he likes DuPont... etc... etc...
Dunno what paint you're using, what the mix ratios are on the paint because I don't know what you're using, or what your painter prefers... etc. So ask your painter what HE wants you to get
K, thanks.
I was thinkin there was a set amount that you need of different stuff whenever you painted. It must depend on what paint you use I guess. Thank gosh I'm going to school for this, lol.

yup painting is not a joke. Alot of people will tell you it's easy, all you do is spray it nice blah blah blah but it really depends on like what fallen said.
All colors are different. Some cover better than others and less material is needed. Better to just let the person painting it tell you what and how much they need and buy some more just in case something happens.
here is a thought why not come here to good ole` chicago and i will teach you a hell of allot more then a school will ever teach ya wizkidrummer, she is right ya need to talk to him about how much material he needs,
can i haz bondo
David Alameda> hey thanks for adding that part about the coverage of different colors... my brain hasn't fully recouperated from getting over the flu yet lol.
On a side note not really related to this post, I really hate it when people come in here and act like painting is so easy a monkey can do it... that really irritates me, and I'm sure the other auto body/paint professionals.
And thanks again big daddy lol.
