I have a crack in my bumper its about 4-5 in. long but there is two spots .....its a stock Z24 bumper from 95+ cavy and i am wondering if i should use fiberglass or SEM Flexible weld kit... or any other type of platic repair i have heard that fiberglass will eventually lift away from the cracked area ...p.s. the crack is all the way threw
thx man i thought so just getting someone to confirm it .............THANKS
ok 1st off your bumper is not urathene, it should be either TPO,OR TPE OR TEO those type of plastics are whats call a offlien type plastic which means it needs a adheshion promoter for any type of plastic repair material to adhere correctly
i personally dislike produtcs from the sem company i highly recomend using 3m plastic repair material they have a material that is made for the difficult plastics like your the TPE.TEO, TPO and you will need to buy the applicator gun and the adheshion promoter
i could give you a how to fix plastic but its not going to do you any good if you have no experience with these types of plastic, and plastic repair, or you could just ship the bumper to me and i will fix it for a small fee
can i haz bondo
thx alot man that helps a whole hell of alot
that is the company and that is the finish coat that goes over the repair, look for the tpo repair material i forget the product number
can i haz bondo
I also have a crack in my front bumper but its too late to do any quick repairs
It is now at the stage where the paint is 75% peeled off on the front bumper... Looks like S***. Time for a new bumper or paint the old one with a lot of labor. Just one more reason to get a better than stock front bumper !!!
