I have been wanting a lambo kit for quite some time, but I need convincing if I should buy or not. What do you guys think. Yay or Nay?
This is the car they will go on if I buy.

May I ask why would you choose VDI over the other kits available?
VDI is the number one kit out, they pretty much invented the Lambo door hinges. The highest quality in the market, but you have to pay for that. Usually about 2x as much as other hinges out there. LDI is a very good brand too though. It all depends on the money you want to spend.
VDI is top of the line! Very good customer service as well. I had got some surface rust on 2 of the bolts that hold the struts on and just mentioned it to the when I was calling about ordering a set for my solstice. He not only sent me 2 new bolts but 2 new struts as well. And they charge 200 a strut for them if ordering! So yea I paid alot for the kit 2 years ago but i got a little more than 400 in return later. Well worth it as well as I have had no problems with them since installed either! No shock problems nothing!
what does the VDI kit run in price just curious and is it bolt on or is there custom work needed

No. Spend the money in suspension.

I would get the MM lambo's and save yourself some money. I have the MM's and didn't have any problems (except the shocks went which Joe took care of...no biggie). Just as good as the VDI but cheaper in price.
Just so you know i took them off since it started to become a pain. Pain being this is my daily driver and passengers didn't know how to properly open/close the door.
So basically depends on you and what your daily routine is. If you go through with it and its your daily driver, make sure you tell your passengers to be careful with the door

Suspension is nice and all, but it isn't really my interest at the moment.
I dunno if I should buy MMS or VDI..... i think Im gonna blow the money on strippers, lol.

Just as good? Did you not even see what you wrote....the shocks went out.....if they went out once then they will go out again. Had mine for over 2 years and ummmm no problems. And hate to tell u the MMS arnt near as thick either. Didnt know how to properly open and close door? Do you mean the lambo part are the actual closing of the door? Because on my VDI kit once I aligned it properly there has never been any problem closing the door at all. Closes just like fatcory....Remember u get what u pay for!

I dont think he asked what else his options was to spend his own money. Wanted to know if the VDI kit was worth it....
STRIPPERS FTW!!!!!!!!!!! They need the $$$ more then the car does!!

Approximate prices:
VDI: $1350
LDI: $700 and up (unless you get them from the current gp)
Various other knockoff brands: $500-900
VDI has the best waranty and the best product you can get when it omes to Lambo doors, just not many peopple want to pay that muh for them. I was going to do a group purchase on them for only $875, but I didn't think many people would want to spend that much on hinges, that is why I set up the one for LDI. LDI is a great company with a quality product, but nothing beats LDI. And they are not all the same. Some are thincker, the shocks are different. LDI uses 2 shocks on each hinge for some applications and they are high quality. Some of the cheaper brands use very cheap shocks and you will hve to keep replacing them or have the door fall down on you all the time. Just depends on the maintenance you want to keep on the hinges. VDI you really have nothing to worry about every again, the company takes care of you.
Well I have the VDI kit on my car (I bought it before all the other kits came out a few years ago).
Shocks are shocks...it doesn't matter what kit you have...the shocks will go on you. My VDI shocks both went out on me after 3-4 months. I bought some MMS shocks from Joe and they've lasted 2 + years now.
As for the hindge itself...my VDI kit was such a nice fit. I've installed 3 other kits, and all on three the drivers side hindge was slightly too thick and the door wouldn't shut properly. Both kits mentioned are the same design, just VDI was the first one out there, and the others are knock offs...
but yes...the shocks don't matter what kit you get it from...I've said it before, but it's kind of like a hit and miss. Also cold weather will affect the shock too.
Sooo in essence, the VDI, LDI, and MMS the share the same shocks and design?
Got one sentence answer for u if all shocks are the same.....HELL NO!

Screw That! A Stripper is the reason why I went with VDI kits on my Cavalier, Solstice, and RX8!
get the 90 degree VDI....if i ever got lambos again I would by these.
my MMS ones were so hard to align to shut I sold them. These are some insane prices for VDI, get them.
