i need to replace my driver side shock, i e-mailed joe at modified a week ago with no response so far, what i need to know is are the shocks any different now then when i bought the kit in the first g/p or can i just order them from his site, i'm assuming they are universal since it doesn't ask for any type of model car

They should be the same. I just bought a kit myself and needed a passenger side strut and noticed they are the same from years ago.
im pretty sure that in the last gp they upgraded the shocks because so many people were having problems.

The only thing that could have possibly changed would be the threading on the end(s). The shocks themselves have not changed.

ok to answer your question. the threading is different. much more bigger threading than the last ones. i have the hinges from the first gp and wound up ordering new shocks just recently. they can still be used . what joe will send you is the shocks and the pieces for both ends of the shock. all you need to do is swap out the top pieces with the new ones given and the shocks will work. hard to explain but not hard to see what to do once you get them in front of you. as for joe. i emailed him 2 times every time i send him an email just to make sure he got the message. only because he sometimes doesnt get them. hope this helps.

yea. larger threading on the end so a lil more stronger.and my new shocks dont make the door shoot up like the first pair did when i got them.

when the door shoots up, what is the problem with it, the shock is blown or what?
When the door shoots up it means either the door is too light for the shocks or the shocks are still new and haven't been used much to wear them in so to speak. If they were blown the door wouldn't go up at all.

i also noticed that my doors flew up when it was hotter out. i would assume due to a higher pressure in the shock because of the higher temperature outside.
i was talking to joe before the bash about new shocks for mine but i also need the bushings that they sit in. he said he was talking to a company about getting new bushings made and would let me know. never heard back from him. both my shocks blew and i actually had to swap in my stock hinges on the driver side just to go to the bash
