i have an 02 cavalier, and its in the shop getting the toyota fenders put on. the shop is having a problem with them lining up with the stock brackets on the car. is there something i have to buy or do to get them lined up right?
ugggh..... shouldn't be. Stock headlight brackets? I just snagged a pair of toyo's for myself and are at home waiting to be installed... from what it looked to me they are just plug and play. Same went for my CF fenders, they were almost plug and play, but have same amount of mounting hardware.
they installed them on my car and since they have that flare on them that makes them wider than stock, there's a 1 in. difference at the front where they should mount.
Stupid question, what's the difference between stock and toyo fenders? Can someone post a pic of each mounted, possibly one stock car next to a car with toyo's.

toyo fenders are a bit wider bya few mm's around the wheel wells, and they have the side markers...thats all i know of

What he said. They are 100% bolt on just like any other fender! The only thing I can think of is you got 95-99 toyota fenders and they forgot to cut the corner light bracket off and thats keeping them from installing the corner lights?

no they're supposed to be 00 fenders. they say they're having trouble mounting the front of the fender to the car. they say there's an inch gap from where the hole to mount the fender is to where to mount it to the car..
TAKE IT TO A SHOP THAT IS ACTUALLY WORTH SOMETHING!!!!!!!!
if theres a 1" gap then they arent doing it right

Yeah man that doesn't make anysense, they never made different mounting holes for the toyota cavalier fenders i just installed some on my car and serioulsy it fit like a glove and they were off a 98 and my car is a 2001 i had to cut the bracket for the corner light off but no big deal. If i were you i would just take it to a new shop. There doing nothing, but wasting your time and money.
Another note the only thing i can think off that wouldn't allow the fenders not to line up is somehow it got bent out of shape, which is very unlikely if they are metal and are visibily in good condition you should be able to find a way to make it work.
Good luck man.
if it were an aftermarket fender, i would just assume its crap quality, but you are talking about genuine GM parts. OEM parts. they do not come and not fit
go to a real shop that isnt retarded
a monkey could put fenders on. its about a 20 min. job to swap in and out
There is 3 holes that need to be bolted as far as i know. The fender attaches to the freaking headlight bracket and the bumper goes below that. Then there is a bar that connects that to the actually frame of the car.
The 95-02 fenders are the same as the 03-05 fenders, right?

Fenders are the same through all years 95-05. Only thing different was the 95-99 fenders had a bracket for the corner lights i believe.
Not 100% correct. They are close but the 95-99 where the bumper bolts to the fender are different from the 00+. Still can work you just gotta drill a new hole in the bumper.

The only reason my car is at this shop is because my uncle is the parts manager there and i get everything done at cost or below cost. the painter is great with his work, even though its getting painted the stock silver because i like it. the body guy i dont care for much, as you can tell. we will hopefully see today what he can do because the body kit is there now and he's gonna start finishing the car. ill let everyone know what happens....., but thanks to everyone for their input, it helped me yell.. i mean explain to the body guy what he needed to do.
for 00-02, they bolt right up for sure, now i did an 03 conversion, and after buying the 03+ brackets, everything lined up fine, no holes needed to be drilled, nothing. they are a very very very very oem part. everything lines right up.
So if I were to get these they would have to be 00-02 or I guess you could consider it 00-05 then right. Seeing as I've already got an 04.

no, if you get these fenders, you'll have to do a headlight swap and hood swap as well....they only made toyo cav from 95-00 so you'll have to get 95-99 headlights or 00-02 headlights and any 95-02 hood to make it happen....OR you could do a lil custom metal work to make the fenders fit the 03-05 headlights...now that would be badass
^^ no he wont. 00-05 fenders are the exact same. you can use 00 toyo fenders on a 05..
manta Z is correct 95-05 fenders are all the same poision cavi what you smokin ?
ur right guys my bad, i thought that there was an extra peice added to it but when i looked at it again, i was lookin at the front bumper...haha...self ownage at it's best! hahaha
