I don't know if I am going to get a scoop or not but wondered what would look and work the best for a 24 inch X 25 & 2 inches high fiberglass scoop on ebay that you add to the hood. I know you have to match the paint and mold it.
I was thinking that a small opening where I could direct the air to the air cleaner area
would be big enough. My engine isn't running hot but a little extra cool air for the air filter might be good. My engine is stock & it runs good.
So doesn't anyone know if this would look right to have a small opening, lets say 3 inch by 10 inch or should it be a lot bigger to look right? Never had a scoop before.
This basically for looks but I know it would keep be a little better for the engine to get some cooler air.
why not just buy a fiberglass or cf hood with a scoop?
if you cant weld/fiberglass, etc, i wouldnt bother trying something like this
I can mold in the scoop myself.
Maybe I won't put an opening there and just have it for looks.
Anyone else have any ideas on how much room they used for the hole in the hood for a small scoop?
if you have the skill, you should make a 2 piece intake system thru the hood. similar to a blower setup, but have the intake tube run to the hood, with some kind of filter/gasket, and out thru the hood
i can picture it, but dont feel like writing 20 sentences to completely explain
picture it please
its ever better...
eazy.. do you still have your rear bag to sell?
IMO bolt on scoops dont look good, esp on our cars. if you mold it in, itll crack because the glass and metal expand at different temperatures. if you are good with glass, make a fiberglass hood skin and mold the scoop onto that. but IMO you need to cut it open underneath to make it functional and not just for looks
when i had my probe and got the EVO style scoop i cut a hole in the hood about the size of the scoop , but just small enough for the 3m tape to have something to stick too

Sounds good to me with the routing to the hood. I may just get a Turbo Sport Hood and make it easy on myself.
They have the right set up!
