hey guys, im planning on cutting part of the lip off on my 05 cavalier. im wondering what the best thing to cut it with would be. so far im thinking a razor blade or dremel.

score is with a razor an then just keep at it, you can dremel it also but razor works an most the time its cleaner, just dont slip an slice the bumper, just go slow an dont try to cut through in one shot.....

I just used a dremel to cut away part of the rear that was too close to the tail pipe. It went thru it like butter. But, wear gloves, that sh&*( is hot when it melts off (blister on thumb to prove it!) LOL

well i went ahead and cut a big chunk out of my front bumper today. it looks amazing thanks to DrPaul84 for his great advice!!!


the longest part is standing there looking at your car and getting ready to do it. i stood there for about 20 min before i finally started.

the z24 name was continued in Canada, it only became the LS Sport in the US.

i will try and post pics soon. i cut off part of the front lip on the Z24/LS sport front bumper, its the outlined bit right under the grille.


i get a lot of the "theres no 05 Z24" but Canada got the better name IMO. LS sport sounds like dealer rice for a sedan or something.

I've though of doing something similar for quite a while too...just never had the balls to hack up my front bumper...then I lost the idea when I bought my drift kit...which still needs to be customized before it goes on...then this tread brought the idea back to mind..I didn't cut it..but I went ahead and painted it.
