To answer your question, if the paint has started to fade nicely, then i suggest sanding it down and re-painting.
THANKS, well which sandpaper and what paint do you recommend to get the job done nicely?

well you wanna start with 36 or 40 grit to sand the panel of anything on it, then once you have done that wash it with degreaser and make sure you do not touch it with your hands because you will leave oil on the panel and the paint wont adhere right. once you have done that then spray primer down, go to your local automotive paint shop and get some dupont primer either in a rattle can or in a quart to spray with a gun. make sure you paint in a well ventilated area and make sure its pretty clean of debri or dust, if not you will have a whole bunch of little bumps on your paint because for some reason paint seems to act like a magnet for them. once you have primered let it sit and apply two coats to fully cover the panel evenly. Once your done with that if the primer seems bumpy or not smooth wet sand it with 600 grit sand paper to make it smooth and have a good surface for paint to adhere to. once you have wet sanded it you are going to wash it with dish soap water. grab some water and put some gloves on then put a little bit of dish soap in the water so that it takes all of the grease. once your done washing dry it either with a lint free cloth or just let it air dry once you rinse it of with clean water. then spray the paint either with rattle can or gun and do more than just one coat if you plan to wet sand, then you can wet sand again if need be only if paint isnt smooth and once thats done you can clear it and do the same.
hopefully this helps!
p.s. - anyone feel free to add anything ive missed
Thanks greatly appreciate your reply! I'll be doing the steps you gave me.

no problem i figured i would try and help you out because i just started doing body work also, and it sure does take all of the practice that they say it does especially with body filler!
