hi
i would like to know if its hard to install( and make fit) suicide hinge?
how many time did you spend on installing that..
does it need to be welded?
thanks!
If your talking about suicide doors as in they opening at the back... if you have to ask how much work it is, I don't think you could do it.
Remember if the door opens at the back that would mean that the latch would also have to be moved to the front.
^^^^^ There a black and blue Cavalier on here with suicide doors. forgot his username though.

you beat me to it lol. as i was reading his request was saying the same thing in my head. there is a pretty good write up on suicidedoors.com if you already asking how to do it and have no clue how you will most likely mess it up and foor will sag and just be bad
yes it is completely possible im in the process of doing it right now i just have to weld on the latch and striker on the passenger side and brace up the door and its done
hopefully itll be done by this weekend for a local carshow
one problem i see with doing this to a J coupe... our doors are HUGE, and heavy.. it would take alot of bracing to get those doors to swing open straight.
what kit is on that car...body kit not hinge kit

umm... or you could simply be honest and say it's a Xenon front, aerogear xplosion rear, and what appears to be modded and molded ww avenger sides... I don't get why people are so stuck on not telling others what products they used, especialy something as obvious as a body kit, dude....

agreed.
on topic: only problem is, like said before, she had it done professionaly at a shop. And if you look at the shape of where the door closes compaired to where the stock hinges are, there would be a lot of custom fab work to make it work smoothly. SO, if you went her route, and payed someone to do it, it's probably going to cost an arm and a leg. Or, if you go the DIY route, you probably wont get it perfectly right, and that is a structural and safety issue, i wouldn't want to deal with. GL on whatever you decide...

even the sides? WOOT WOOT, i was realy worried i wasn't seeing the skirts right in those pics. they're one part i never payed a ton of attention to on her car for some reason.
at any rate, you're womans car is beautiful, and im sure your new J is jealous
I hope this guy gets someone to do his suicide hinges of help him do it... cuz it looks killer on her car, and if the mods are right, he might pull it off.

What Putting Suicide on The Rear (4-Door) And Lambo On The Front????
what about it? its possible. hell on flips car before he sold it, he was doing the passenger side door suicide and the drivers side door lambo
Spike tv's Trucks! had a really detailed show on suicide doors they put on Project Bodybag... the only diffrence is you will need more support then the hardbody nissan
you all think is really that easy to just use a kit, but wait till that door crashes into the quarter panel cuz the angle is all wrong
It aint that @!#$ hard, the latch/striker is a piece of cake relocating. The hardest part is figuring where to weld in the new hinge pockets. Ofcourse its gonna be hard for someone who doesnt know how to weld or do metalwork or bodywork. You want hard, try doing a suicide hinge on a widebody so it clears the widebody on the 1/4 panel.
