I tried that on my cav, I wouldn't suggest it. Pretty much impossible to align everything up right and get the hood bolted on. If your gonna flip your hood, I'd suggest doing it the right way, with the correct hinges, not our stock hinges.

i personally wouldnt use stock hinges....or the autoloc kit for that matter.

easiest way is to get the hinges of the old buicks. they came stock like that.

ding!

its not hard to do and its been discussed hundreds of times. get some buick hinges, cut as needed and it will work fine. no hood pins needed

would these work on a fiberglass hood? I am looking to get one and that hinge setup is awesome.

it would be alot harder on a fiberglass there is not really anywhere to put the hinges on the hood and i would think even if you had enough glass onthere it would crack off eventually

it is a pain if you have to do anything on the front half of the motor. im sure it would be a hassle on the eco probally to change the oil filter since its on the front iirc.

you definitely do remember correctly. it's in the front partially hidden by the intake manifold in a way that makes you have to use a special very shallow socket to get it off. at least to get it off easily without hurting anything.

Yea thought about doing this... got the hinges off a saab 900s to use to do it... then decided it wasnt worth the hassle for working on the car in general especially with the nitrous kit and stuff id be under the hood a lot. Plus i plan on grabbin a CF hood soon and there just would be no way.

If anybody wants the hinges I got I'll sell em', lol...
