i was thinking about getting the whiteboy invader evil eye hood for my 99 sunfire this spring. i have read both good and bad about whiteboy throughout the org. do you think i should go through with the purchase or should i just go with another hood? (i was thinking an OEM carbon fiber by VIS) do you think i will have any problems with the fitment issues? has anyone else bought this hood and had fitment issues besides the person from that 14 page thread? any help would be bomb.
i have never purchased a WB hood so i cannot give any first hand tales of product quality or customer service.
however, if you KNOW that there are not only problems with the hood's fitment BUT ALSO arguably the worst customer service ever, why would you even consider purchasing it?
NO SIG FOR YOU!
if you don't LOVE that hood and would like another hood just as much (maybe even more) then go ahead and move on from it.
but it's up to you

5 seconds to find another street...
i guess i just love the hood so much that i would consider doing that. no one else offers a production evil eye hood, so that's why i would want it. more than likely i will go with a OEM carbon fiber from VIS or carbon creations, i think.
adding eyelids to a hood isnt that tough man.

for a cf hood its a little more of a task though too if you want the whole hood to be cf

yea, it's definitely more of a task. if you're just going to paint over the body work and glass it that's one thing. if you want the whole hood to be visibly cf....have fun.

well obviously you would need to paint part of the hood.

last time i checked WB's invader hood was only fiberglass...
If you really love the evil eyes check out the GP section for the C/F Tec GP.

SO EVERYTHING!
i PM'd flipspeed or flipside (which ever his name is) and asked about a carbon fiber hood with eyelids. the price and the whole ordeal in general seems to good to be true. heh.
^^ CF Tec is a great quality product.
and for reference, you hear people talk about JSP pieces being decent...well JSP sells CF-Tec parts that werent quality enough to carry the CF-Tec name
damn. i hope i am able to pick up a hood. i hope i don't the need the group purchase quantity to buy one. i'm just waiting for the pm back..
here is a hood that comes with evil eyes. you simply will not find a better company to deal with either. i used to sell their hoods and they were the friendliest business ive ever met....real enthusiasts and not just a company out for your money.
or if you want to do evil eyes on a c/f hood yourself, here is a how to that i wrote up. i chose to paint the whole hood so it would go with the two tone theme of the car, but you don't have to paint yours if you dont want to. most people will paint part of their c/f hood body color and leave the rest of it c/f. looks great like that IMO.
or you could go with a simpler solution.....c/f eyelids. generally, bolt on eyelids dont look that great. but IMHO these dont look too bad and are a cost effective alternative. cannon even has a c/f invader hood....how convenient!

correct, the WB evil eye invader hood is only available in fiberglass, so you're going to have to paint it anyway.
Josh (03cavfire) did a write-up a while ago showing how he put eyelids on a carbon fiber hood.
here's the link but the pictures are dead.

im sure if you e-mailed him he could either redo the write-up or send you pictures and instructions how to do it yourself.
edit: sorry Tabs, i didn't see your link to your write-up.

well if you decide to go with VIS, i'll back that company up...
VIS Sponsors my team, and i deal with one of the owners all the time because he is personal friends with the owner of my shop, and i do most of the ordering for them and we've never had a problem with them.
click on my sig for the thread, if that is the kind of customer service you want to deal with then order at your own risk....
