ice and new(ish) paint
Wednesday, December 05, 2007 11:39 PM
everybody should know i got my car painted about two months ago... welll we got some heavy snow (not really- about 4-5" today) and my car was covered with snow and ice.

i still havent been able to wax it, and maybe im thinking about this TO MUCH, but do you think that it'll be alright? i need to wax it when it warms up enough to wash, and then ill just put it in my neighbors garage and give it a couple coats.
im used to having ATLEAST 3 coats of wax on my car at all times, so i feel like my car is naked and unprotected. and i dont want any ice pulling off my paint.

My non-clear coated front fender is currently sitting outside in the -22 weather with ice/snow on it... and it doesn't seem to have been affected as of yet... so i'm pretty sure your 2 month old paint job is perfectly fine..

Id just keep the salt off it if its that new.

Im anal, I hose my car down every time im forced to drive it (instead of my truck) to work. -- I have hot water available at home and at work through the hose. its got original paint but it makes me feel better, and my c/f hood is showing no signs of wear or anything.
