z24 side skirt mounting...

Hey there, i got z24 side skirts installed on my sunfire sedan, the guy who installed them used screws in the bottom of the rockers and one in each end of the wheel wells, and where my sunfire came from the factory with out any skirts there was not brackets in the rockers to hold the top part of the skirt to the rocker so he used two way tape on each notch where the skirt would normally clip onto the bracket.
My problem now is the two way tape is letting go and i have a gap between the skirts and the rockers, anyone know what i should do to fix this, put some kind of resin in there and not use the two way tape? The skirts will not fall off, just creates the gap whick is noticable when you open the doors up and see the gap and the two way tape...

Anyone else with z skirts encounter this problem?

would you happen to know what kind of two way tape he used? I know a few guys that have done this usin 3M exterior 2way tape and had no issues.

I have the same problem with z24 skirts on my cavalier sedan. My sides came from the junkyard and were missing most of the brackets on the bottom. Right now they are held on with 3M Trim Adhesive tape, which is a light grey color and costs about $5 for a 5-foot roll. I have read that the 3m VHB tape is MUCH stronger and designed for permanent applications. Also I had to notch my sides a little bit with a dremel tool to clear my fenders, looks a little ghetto but it is good enough for now.

3m all the way, another good idea would be using some panel bond where the 2 way tape was and just press it up tight and hold it until the stuff dries.. then you have no real chance of it coming off again
