Antenna Broke Off

Yeah the whole antenna broke off my car, the stud and everything broke right off (the screw broke off at the base and stayed in the antenna). Has this happened to anyone before and how did you fix it? I can get pics if you don't understand what I'm sayin.

Couldn't you just get a new antenna at a junkyard

The actual threaded screw the the antenna screws onto broke off and stayed in the antenna.

Get the whole assembly off a junk'd car. You can remove it from inside the trunk.

What about the wiring, does that disconnect at the assembly or would I have to rewire the whole thing?

I really hope it is that easy...I called the local chevy dealer to see if they had the part and asked if they knew what all would be involved with fixin it. They said just bring it in, so i asked for a price and the quoted me $200. Yeah screw that

I say shave it and just get satellite radio...

if all fails why not just drill it out?

wow $200, just open your trunk, pull back the carpet, and take a look it'll take 2 seconds. Theres 2 little bolts to unscrew and the antenna wire literally plugs into the antenna base. Order the part here, or go to a local junkyard.

Yeah there is no way I'm payin that, thats rediculous. I'm gonna take the bolt thing off tomorrow and look to see if the wire really does just unplug and plug into a new assembly. Anybody have any idea on what the part number would be or what the actual part is called. Antenna assembly??

Wouldn't I just need part numbers 2 (Antenna Mast Bracket) and 3 (Bezel)...

You would need part numbers 1 (the antenna mast) and 4 (the cable).

No its part number 2. I know that for a fact, the cable and antenna didn't break, the mounting screw did and that's part 2. So i ordered it today...
