I just looked at a website recently that had a wiring diagram to convert the back up lights into amber turn signals... if anybody can knows this website it would be greatly appreciated
Wow thats as old a J-body modding itself! I did this mod on a cav about 6 years ago
. It was cool back in the day.
It would be the same concept as the Toyo tail wiring, just rerouting the turn wire to your reverse light socket.

tried that already thats how it is now... problem- that is aslo the brake lamp wire. this schematic showed how to seperate the 2 signals
You need to snip the white wire in the column to deactivate the brake/turn function. That will only allow turn. If you already routed the third brake wire to your outer sockets, you're almost there.
To do this you reroute the odd color (yellow & green) to the reverse light socket for turns in place of the green wire at the reverse light, then follow the rest of the instructions for the toyo tails.
Trust me... I've done this using the toyo instructions, then decided it wasn't right for me, so switched it to park/brake only
yepp. i have this done right now to. i actually added extra sockets in the housing to so i still have reverse lamps. works pretty good and i like having a dedicated turn signal
Thanks a lot Kardain... one more question for you... do i have to open the steering column to reach this wire or can i find it by going under the dashboard?
You need to pop the top part of the plastic collar off the column (where the hazard switch is). Its just held in by 3 clip things... That's the only way to get to that wire
thanks alot ill be getting to it tomorrow
so0o0o0o the cover on my steering wheel dolumn is screwed into something inside not clipped so ill open it up today
make sure and take some pics

BTW: This is my Sig.
I did something like this with my bumper lights, wired them to only serve as turn signals.
Does anyone have pictures of this, I'm not sure what this looks like in action.(vid?)

havent got to work yet the weather has been horrible and i dont have a garage.... will be telling of my progress when the weather clears up
its 3 torx screws on the bottom of the column cover that hold the 2 halves together. once you remove the 3 screws, just pull the 2 parts apart. they snap together
so i finally finished the project and it looks great... i got pics of the work and will post soon... thanks for all your help guys... much appreciated
Wojo's car.. crappy vid since I only had my digital camera with me at the time instead of my camcorder...
Hmmm.. I'd imagine a cop would wonder why your reverse lights were flashing as turn signals and not reverse lights.

I wouldn't say a cop would wonder... Mine have had red LED bulb in 'em for park/brake for 3 years now (I has no reverse lights)... and I've been pulled over for everything but.... but if you have inspections, maybe then it would be a problem. But there's an easy fix. Add a second bulb (194) to the reverse light that is tied into the existing reverse wiring.
