Lately I have been thinking about a project I can do that requires little money spent and I have an idea. I took a look at a 2002 Ford Taurus and realized that they have lights on the bottom side of the side mirrors that lights up the ground. Kinda like this Jag but different..
What I want to know is how easily can this mod be done you think? I believe it wouldn't take much other than finding a mini l.e.d. light, dremeling a hole to make the light fit, then wire them up to the door switch...
What you think? Has anybody done this to their cav/fire before? I think it would be a pretty cool mod to do over the fall.
i havent done this to a cav or fire but i do have this on my lexus and i can take some pics for you if you need them. i actually like the lights myself. mine turn on when i walk up next to the car then once the car is started and in drive they turn off. someone on clublexus was talking about changing the color of theirs. i'll see if i can find that thread and see if they actually opened up the mirrors, this would help you out alot seeing what it all looks like.

I added 5 single led's in little clip style holders. They come on when i lock/unlock my car. looks nice

i searched and found the thread, however no one posted in there since i last looked at it. they are called puddle lights if you want to google it. i did a google image search for puddle lights and found some things in there. that might be a start to help you.
No i dont have any pics. i just drilled 5 small holes just big enough for the bulb holders to fit in maybe 1.5" apart put a little clear silicone on the back. you cant really tell they are there unless you are looking for them
did you have to open the mirrors to wire anything up?

Also there are "action shots" where people have put them in the door handles that look pretty nice as well.
