Did the DRL disable... now no hazards
Thursday, December 25, 2008 10:31 PM
I did this mod a couple days ago. cut the wrong wire the first time (way to go me). soldered and heat-shrunk it back together. cut the right wire, now no more DRL's, as intended. All seemed fine until I went to use my hazards, and they didnt work. no light, no click when i hit the switch on top of the column. Any idea what I did wrong?

Evarything else works like it should, DRL's are disabled like I wanted them to be, but I have no hazard flashers anymore.

Did you disconnect your negative battery terminal AND disconnect the wire harness from the back of the BCM before you clipped the wire? If wires to the BCM are clipped or altered while power is still supplied to the unit it is possible to have a failure in some of the internal programming in the BCM

Disconnected battery when I did this. Found out today they work intermittently with the hazard switch on. It doesn't really bother me that much to take it apart before the motor swap really...
