So a bus ripped off my driver side mirror the other day while my car was parked on a street, and took off. Luckily some nice man saw it and left a note on my car with all the bus' info. So my insurance said that because I only have 1 way insurance that they will have to wait for the police report before they replace my mirror. They said though, if I want I can do it myself, and once they get the police report the will reimburse me if I have a recepit.
So I was thinking this might be a good opportunity to upgrade. I was just wondering - how hard would it be to upgrade my manual mirrors to power mirrors? I know I would need a switch for them but aside from that are there any other complications or is it a direct bolt on?
Another thing I was looking at was these APC M3 style carbon fiber manual mirrors with the built in LEDS - anyone have any comments on it as far as quality is concerned?
Thank
Or if anyone can think of any other possible mirrors that would go and and look nice - that input is appreciated also.
APC doesn't make the mirrors you are talking about anymore. So you would have to get them off of somebody selling them.
You could try and get a pair of power mirrors at a junk yards but I don't know how reliable that is with the motor working. A lot of the cars have the wiring harness in place for the mirrors so all you really need is the switch and mirrors. You can check by taking off you door panel and if you find a 4 pin connector that isn't connected to anything then the harness is there.
Look up power mirrors there was a thread I made similiar to this and it has pictures of the connector.
Toyos are really cool but really expensive and you have to mod one of the fuses I believe.
The problem you may run into is that your insurance company may not cover the costs if you get power mirrors. At least they wont if they know anything and pay attention.
The proper way of using the word seen. It is not I seen it that would be I saw it. He has seen the car is the right way to use the word. English class is Cool. By the way thats my sig
Insurance has no idea what kind of mirrors I have. For all they know I have power mirrors, and for all I know it might not even say power mirror on the receipt. Im just looking for options...I figure I might as well make the negative into a positive.
I found a set of APC M3 on ebay - so ya I guess I'm buying them from somebody - any comments on them? TOYO mirrors, where can I look for them? Any j-body site?
i highly highy suggest the toyo mirrors!!! They are the only power folding mirrors on the market for our cars!
