I was thinking I could just sand it down, put some fiberglass resin over top of it, sand it out again and reapply resin again and then primer and paint it.. I've never used fiberglass before do I have to re-layer it again? or what can I do? Please help
way it looked after I painted it.
I'm looking for help here, I'm not concerned with cost of fixing it i want it fixed so I can once again show off a nice car. Thank you for any help.
A body shop will be able to fix that for you easily. From the pics it just looks like the paint/gel coal is cracked, no fiberglass needed.

Oh? I want to do this myself, I took it to one shop and the guy was talking to me about doing it for like 400 bucks. If it's something I can do myself I want to do it, for the experience and self accomplishment. Any clue on what I need to do?
haha so your saying I should just repaint it from scratch? well gee how hard would that been to say, I can paint no problem. I just wasn't sure if that was the problem with my hood, if it was a painting issue or a fiberglass.
Yeah, just paint peeling. Unless it is covered with bondo and fiberglass. The chunks look pretty thick.
What kind of paint did you paint it with? Just curious.
