i doubt you could do anything bout it if that's what your'e wondering. if you've ever hosted pics of ur car on a not for profit site chances are they're up for grabs. i would guess anyway.
If its been hosted on CarDomain or Photobucket etc it fair game as @!#$ty as it is.
ya it sucks, theres nothing you can do about it other than hosting from a copyright protected site. i see pics of other cavs with my projector builds photoshopped on them every now and then on cardomain and other sites too.
i think i would be happy, maybe.
Nice how they slap 'all rights reserved' across the pic they stole.
And an excellent photoshop hack-job too.. the left side goes right off the trunk lid...

The irony right? And, yeah, the chop is pretty crappy... And the illiterate seller emailed me back today about it saying, "all pictures are confirmed by sales department from manufactuer. we do not used your car image. please don't worry. any other questions, please feel free to email us."
like what the hell does that mean? I'm going to see if I can find info on the light manufacturer... I know there isn't much I can do about it, but its kind of annoying...

You hosted on a public image uploader and someone is using the picture.. okay. What is the big deal?
it means you disrespect his whole famary.
You can actually contact them and prolly get something done , a while back matt (zdoubledouzen) his car was on a site modeling the body kit , i found this and then i posted on the JCO and he never knew anything about it. He had called them and complained and they said that they would remove it and they also would give him a discount on products if he wanted.
You can report it to Ebay if you have an account... Typically they will investigate it further and get the seller to take it down.
I had a similar situation to this with an item I just sold and they were very responsive.

Yeah, when you upload an image to say Flickr, Photobucket, etc, it says in the terms of use that you give permission for any images to be reproduced, modified, redistributed, edited, etc - royalty free. So, sorry bud!
Yeah, I figured it was pretty much a "tough luck" situation, lame, but oh well... I guess I should watermark my pics from here on out...

watermarking isn't gonna stop it. especially if you continue to upload to public sites (i.e. cardomain, photobucket, etc.)

watermark your images that you're going to share on a public photosharing site
This happened to me last year. Someone used pictures of my Vibe to sell "Bling Lights"
. I wasn't even aware of it until someone posted about it over on GenVibe. One of my fellow GenVibers contacted the company and bitched them out and they promptly removed it. The funny part is they did no photoshopping or anything. All they did was use a picture of my high beams with SilverStars in them
.
Like everyone else has said, it's the risk you take when posting pictures of your car online. I personally thought it was kind of funny and honestly did feel a little flattered
.
i would definitely take it as a compliment
Some company used my engine bay pic to sell a knock-off turbo kit and it pissed me off because they used knock of parts and I used quality parts... and it took my glory away having built a custom kit.. I emailed them and asked them to remove it and they did. I get what your feeling tho. It's frustrating but it is true... if it's not copyrighted... I threatened them with false advertisement because my parts were not even close to what they were offering...

That is crappy and it is false advertising. That's why I didn't really care when the picture of my Vibe was used. The picture showed 100% factory fog lights, despite the fact that the picture was being used to sell "Bling Lights". Morons
!
actually if you took the pic and its your car then you own the rights to that pic wether you put it on flikr or facebook or anywhere else. that is your pic and you have the right to have it taken down. there is a diffrence of someone using your pic to show on the internet and someone using your pic to make money. there is the big diffrence. i doubt photobucket or facebooks info says people may steal your pics to make money off of. that is the big diffrence. thats your pic, have it removed.

Well facebook can use your pictures to make a profit, no one else can (unless facebook ok's it), its in the agreement that pictures you host on facebook become facebook's property.
