I was at a Pontiac dealership today, salesman told me that as far as he knew there was still going to be a 2006 Sunfire. I thought 2005 production was ending in June and there would be no more J-bodies after that.
BTW, another dealer I talked to ordered a 1SV yesterday. When it comes in, is there any way of knowing if it's the last stick shift J-body ever made? (assuming there are no 2006 Sunfires)
He's a salesman. Do you seriously think he's know anything more than @!#$ all?
They arnt being made anymore, but GM still has tons left over.

Yeah I filled in a salesman on a load of info on sunfire when I visited one time, I was shocked at his lack of knowledge.

I've had a salesman at a chevy dealer ask my friend and I why we would take the Ecotec's out of our 96 and 95 Cavaliers. Don't listen to um.
Man, you'd think they'd at least HAVE to learn about their new product lines...
It's not that hard.

I'm not really up on all this, so no more Cavalier either after June then correct?
- 2004 Cavalier - 124k, owned since new
Those that can, do; those that can't, teach; Those not even @!#$ close, sell.
I've had asaleman at Chevy tell me you can't make an LT1 camaro as fast as an LS1 camaro and if you lower 2 inches you can take turns through intersections doing 90 mph

No Sunfires made after June 2005. Last day to try to order for dealer stock was 4-29-05, customer orders closed about a week earlier. I had a dealer try to order one Friday, they should know by Tuesday if it's going to happen. They want $10,700 less rebates, which seemed pretty good. And there is always the possibility that it might be the last J-body made, or the last stick shift J-body. I can pretty much guarantee it'll be the last J-body with factory installed engine block heater. And I got to pick the color (Electric Blue).
No Cavaliers made after Oct 2004. I did read something on a GM forum by a Lordstown worker, it seems they were still making Cavis there in October, when I previously thought that all 2005 cars were Mexican.
The Cavi supply is pretty much dried up, but I did find a few SV1s, including a yellow one in Kentucky and a white one in Tennesee. The others were too far from Michigan for me to even think about. You can check
http://www.gmbuypower.com to search dealer stock if you want. If there are any Cavis left when September rolls around, expect some major discounts. Sunfire sales are actually running higher than 2004, probably because the Cavis aren't competing with them anymore.
There are plenty of 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sport models with a 5 speed in the color yellow (XM radio and mp3) in my area. People seem to be afraid of the 5 speeds around here. I know this one dealership has had a particular Cavalier as described above for the past year or more. I go by there occasionally to see where it is. If the past 12 months, they have had it on the show room floor, on a pedistal, on a rotating pedistal near the main highway (where they show their popular, more mainstream selling vehicles) and they have yet to sell that vehicle. I'm considering making an offer to them on it...but I won't pay the $19,210 they are asking since it's been setting there for a year. Then there's another chevrolet dealership that's about 16 miles from my house that has have a white 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier LS Sport (auto) for almost 2 years now. They can't sell it for the life of them. Its amazing how sluggish the sales of the Cavalier have gotten over the years, that if one looks hard enough, they can still find 2004 models.
I hope there is one so it will keep the j-bodies alive even longer

do it then sue him for false information
I went to a local dealership with a buddy of mine and the saleman told us that a used 01 cavalier base coupe that was there had the same engine as the new cobalts. I told him no it didn't and then we popped the hood and I began to give him a history lesson on the 3rd Gen cavaliers. Then i went on to explain to him the differences between the Cavaliers and the Cobalts. He was funny though, he tried to trip me up, he popped the hood of the Cobalt and asked me if i noticed something was missing... I looked at him and said yeah they mounted the battery in the trunk. The last thing he said to me was....damn you should get a job here, you know your sh!t. lol
