i know there was a post about this before for the last issue of sport compact car, and a lot of people said that they werent going to do it.
i just got the new issue in today, and they have a whole page in the back about it, they printed letters that people wrote them. they said that there was a lot of interest.
and they said "so, looks like we're going to have to build a project j-body. the only questions now are: which year, what model, and how do we get one for cheap (free)? send all your responses to sccnews@ primedia.com or harass the editors. thanks"
so it looks like there is going to be a j-body build, they just dont know what year or model.

So much for all the doubters, haha. I say let them try to build a 2200 (2000 year pontiac sunfire ... hopefully victory red color. SE model
)
This was siad on the other thread already, but it's crawling torward the bottom of the page. Obviousley, everyone here will wan't to see the engine "they" have in there cars in the SCC project car, but just having a J-body as a project car in the mag will be cool if they actually own up and do it. (probably a Cavy, I don't think they have the balls to do a Sunflower like I do
)
meh, they'll choose a 2200 auto for sure.
ive yet to see the J car's represented by one of our cars with the most potential. they always do that to make us look bad.
"we got us a 1996 2200 auto powered cavalier, we dumped 10,000 into the engine and ran high 14's" some crap like that will happen.
i'll donate my car (99 2200 3spd auto) if get to keep it afterwards!! lol
i think it would be better if they did an eco... there's more potential with the engine and aftermarket response then there is with the 2200. the 2200 would require a TON of work and it still wouldnt be that great compared to others.
That is SUPER surprising, but very cool. Maybe its the new ownership, lol.
My car needs TONS of work.... hmmm..... *grabs phone*

Thats what I was thinking...we should have our new one soon and I would easily give it up for a while if they gave it back in the end...03+ with Eco...
Got mine in the mail today and read that as well...I was shocked!
I'd say they need to do two builds, but only one engine...turbo Eco and a GMPP SC Eco. Tap the potential of both applications and just see what they can do!
...and just when I said I didn't want to renew...the cover of this issue has the follow..."THIS IS YOUR LAST ISSUE" LOL!!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?
Never thought it would happen. Just wow.

Yea I thought the only folks silly enough to have a project cav would be those super street kids...............please don't hit me teske.
Meh they can have my car if they want, just gotta come to canada for a pickup and loan me project Z while they have mine.
How about someone tell them to do a one-pager (in addition to the build) on some awesome J's already out there? (ahem)
I'm thinking... Teske's supercharger test-fit... and of course Mull's Evil Z24.. a lot of the popular ones on here... etc...
As long as they J-body they build ends up faster than "project virtual GTI" I'll be happy
I know, Im being stupid, but the pics of NFS PS, look awsome. SCC never seemed to care much for auto's, but I bet z yaaa will be right and they'll get a OHV engine w/ high mileage if for no other reason than being afraid to sink any real money into it at first.
Meh, i say a 2nd gen with either a 3400 or 3800s/c...
haha i bet 99% of the letters were from jbo'ers... haha now lets see if they do it right and use a sunflower w/ eco or 2.4, then maybe i wont get made fun of for driving "a 16y/o's girls car. " an exact quote from a girl at the local road course (driving a v6 auto eclipse0 right before she saw nothing but my rear bumper.

Yeah you will because even if they make outrageous power, at the end of their write up will say, "but it's still just a j-body"
smeh.. even if i still get trash talked by everyone ill let my car do the talking then i always have " you just got beat by a 16 y/o chick car" either way i win lol, or when i get beat i have " well im driving a 6k$ sunfire whatd you expect."
