Buying a car in Canada when you live in the US?
Saturday, June 30, 2007 6:20 AM
I am looking into getting a Sunfire Sedan to turn into a "GT". What I would really like to get my hands on is one with an ECOTEC. I have seen a couple 2002 Sedans online that had the ECO, but I have not been able to find anymore due the elusiveness of this option on Sedans.

I was thinking of trying to get a hold of a 2003-2005 Sunfire Sedan from Canada, but I have no idea if this is even possible and what all would be involved in getting a car across the border. If anyone has any information on this or can point me in the right direction to finding this information it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

this should help you.

you should have no problems importing a Canadian sunfire to the US, it meets all US crash standards and safety regulations.

Thanks for the information. For now I am going to continue to search for a 2002 because it would obviously be easier to not have to go all the way to Canada just to get one .
