The car has been running fine till this morning, when I swapped the stock plugs for Autolite Platinum plugs.
Now its slow to start up, knocks and then stalls.
It does the same thing even after I put back in the stock plugs.
This happened before, and after I changed the position of the wires it fixed it.
But its not doing anything this time.
I follow'd the diagram from the haynes manual, and the motor jams and stalls without even running if I follow the books diagram for the ignition packs.
I don't know whats going on here.
I don't see how I could of got the wires mixed up, as I changed ONE plug at a time.
Any ideas?
Going from the radiator how do the coil packs fire?

You should probably use Delco plugs. Autolites are usually for fords. Change to AC Delco and see if that helps. It should.
did you properly gap the plugs???? I would switch to a Delco or NGK plug... i've never had a problem running either...
Well like I said, even after I put the stock plugs back in(delco) it still is doing the same thing.
Last time I had the issue with Borshe(borche?) +2 Platinum plugs.
But after I put in the stock plugs, it still knocked.
And then I realized I had the cylinders firing backwards.
This time even after I checked the wires, it still is messed up.
Now.. In the haynes manual it shows;
(front to back) 2-3 1-4
But on my car it is 1-4 3-2, now this is how it came from the dealership after a motor swap.
It ran fine for a long time until I changed to those +2 plugs about a month or two ago.
And today its doing the same thing.
It hesitates to start, runs for about 2 seconds fine and then knocks/pings on and off(randomly) and then the motor stalls.

Anyone else?

I'm thinking this might be a fuel problem.
I noticed when I turn the ignition on(before starting the motor), I can't hear the fuel pump "whirl".
And if you rev it up, it stops knocking and runs iffy, but it'll run.
But as soon as you let it idle, it will stall.
Could my fuel pump be bad?
This started when I pulled out the spark plugs,
Could it of loss fuel pressure when the plugs came out of the cylinders and left them open?
My air/fuel gauge will lean towards rich and then drop to lean and completely go out.
Coming home tonight, I had to keep it rev'd up, and a few times it would start to run fine for a few minutes, and when I had to hit the brake or slow down,
It would start to knock/ping again and stall.
And when it stalled, it wouldn't even turn over unless you pumped the pedal as it started.
Does this sound like a fuel pump issue?

Well the car ran fine this morning when I started it.
I got it to advance and got the code pulled.
I forget the number but it was a "multiple cylinder miss/es"
But its running OK now. Still has a very slight "puffy" miss at idle.
I'm going to change the wires tomorrow and see if that helps.
