Hey guys,
I've got a 2003 Cavalier, its got over 127k miles on it. The original owner had a remote starter installed but I disconnected it due to it not working perfectly. The remote start seemed to also be draining the battery but I just recently replace the battery because it has a dead cell in it. It didn't start anymore but was fine after that. (the battery was replaced like a week ago)
Now heres the tough part:
I started the car and drove it down to the store. When I came back to go home the car wouldn't crank over. So I call my dad to come by and boost, he hooks up the cables, still nothing. So he wants to take the battery out but while he removes the positive he notices strong sparks coming from the battery (meaning its good). He connects it back and gets in the car and it starts like a dream.
What the hell is wrong?
I'm thinking the ignition switch or something to do with the stupid remote starter.
Maybe a bad connection at the battery....try cleaning the cable end and the battery terminal. i had this problem before. the terminal was corroded to the cable end. cleaned it all up and it worked fine.
