Hi i need some help. I have a 86 cavalier z24 2.8 and on the return line for the fuel rail it is leaking realy bad. I cant seem to fix the leak. Does any one have a solution to this problem. here is a pic of the line iam refuring to, the line on the left is the one. it screws down into the fuel rail, but is just wont seal properly. I have tried putting a new o-ring but i might not have the right size and cant find the right size. and have also used some rtv silicon and that has not worked either. So as you can see i need help on this...

I think you might need to go to the auto wreckers or dealership for a new part, JB weldwill only help for so long then, When it fails you could have a fire on youre soon after.

Good Luck.

Go to http://www.advanceautoparts.com and click online shopping then click on choose ur vehicle. They do carry a variety of oring kits for the 2.8.Being I am not fluent with the fuel injected js I am not sure which orings u need. But I would bet if anyone has the parts new advance or auto zone carry alot of stuff for the 1st gen categories.Sounds like the orings u have may be the wrong size bc the likely hood of the metal piping being distorted is highly unlikely.I would chk the above site out,by the correct parts or part kit, replace and use a little automatic trans fluid on the rings this helps them seal(just place rings in the fluid then install) Unless the fuel rail is dented the rings should seat.Start here bc I am thinking unless u just did not seat the rings properly or the rail has a deform in it,u prolly can buy a used one for it,I did not look to see if the parts store carries it.I would check auto zone and napa if the oring kit does not fix the leak if it is avail. And if u go napa there web page is http://www.napaonline.com.OK hope this helps.I would recomm cleaning the part with brake clean and very light sand paper then install with new rings and use the atf to lube those rings it does make a difference.
