Hello all, i belive my 2000 2.2 cav has a fuel leak. My mileage is really crappy like 19.1 (normal to moderate driving). The smell doesnt come from the motor or under the hood, like injector o rings are bad. It seems like the tank may be leaking on me. The rear of the car smells like fuel... Do cavy's have a known problem with bad fuel tanks? IF so, how hard are they to replace, and any special tools needed? Advice on doing so? Thanks guy, i can give more info if needed. Please help, i love my car

lay a piece of cardboard down and see exactly where it is leaking from.

Not sure about the fuel filter. And i live in maine, so the cardboard thing may not work very good. I will try it and report back. What size? fuel line disconnect tool would that call for? Thanks for the help

Finally got around to this. It was leaking at the line closest to the tank (if that makes sense). I didnt have to drop the tank at all, the line snapped/fell apart anyway ha. So another problem is finished, now to tackle my leaky power steering.
