ok my gauges started blinking on and off last night they kept dropping to 0 and popping back up and when i went to park my car i turned it off and the drls stayed on so i had to unhook my battery cable i went outside to check it out today and all my ground look good and tight but i found the wire in the pic dangling and not plugged in i was wondering if this was a extra plug or if it was really supposed to be plugged into something ps this isn't my car in the pic

btw the car is a 00 sunfire if that makes a difference

i had this happen on 2 occasions

the first was when the charging wire broke @ the starter (the wire runs from the alternator to the starter then the battery)
i ran a larger cable from the alternator to the battery

the second time was when the chassis ground broke
(that reminds me i need to fix that been running a temporary ground for 6 months)
