So recently something happened to my exhaust/ heat shield on my 2003 Cavalier..
something broke lose and a couple rivits came lose on my heat shield.. it wasent a problem i just tin snipped some stuff out of the way bent it off my exhaust and went about my life..
not rattles until last week some time..
its gotten so bad now that it sounds like a burnt out bearing constantly.. im getting ready to take my car out in the desert dosing it in gas and light it on fire to make this god awful noise stop!!!!!
ANY WAY
my question is does anybody have a GM part number for the heat shield for the 2003-2005 cavalier?
Im getting ready to drop my tank and replace the fuel pump (cars got over 100,000 mile) and in the process replace my resonator (burn out sounds awesome!!) as well as move my CAT forward and am planning on replacing my OBX POS header with a pace setter that i modified (3" downpipe 4tw!!!).. so ill be under my car tearing it apart for a nice weekend and im wondering if i can just buy a brand new heat shield seen as i have to take the old rattly ass one off anyways.
its not gving the part number on gmparts direct but it gives the illistration and part names,
not sure which ya need exactly but a heat sheild for the converter (number 7 on the pic costs 20.40 . plus shipping,
the heat sheild for the intermed pipe (number 8 on the pic ) is 38.08
and the heat shield for the muffler (number 9 on pic) is 24.92
hope this helps
well thank you sir..
looks like im going to be visiting a junkyard and seeing if i cant get #8 on that list for cheaper than that..
but thank you for the info!!!
