Ok so I didn't know which forum to put this in so here it is.... I need to know how to take the bolt out of the crank pulley with out using air tools? I need help really bad timing chain needs to be changed and I have my car tore apart right now and have no way to work but thank god its friday because I don't have to work this weekend ... But I need your guys help badly please and thank you.

Oh and yeah it is a 2.3L

If yours has slots in the pulley just take a pry bar or something strong that will fit...stick it in there and get your socket and breaker bar and go at it...its how i do it works everytime.

Um, no. You do have a breaker bar. A breaker bar is anything long, strong, and capable of being attached to a ratchet. Do you really not have a tree anywhere near you, a chair back, a lamp, etc.? I'm looking around the room I'm in, and I see about 12 things that, with one other ingrediant, become breaker bars.

That other ingrediant... Duct tape. If you started this (or any other) project without, like, 10 roles of duct tape on hand, I can't help you. No one can help you. Why don't you have duct tape? If you don't have one, a chain wrench on the pulley and a breaker bar on the bolt, both being pulled in opposite directions, may get it. Another "trick" (and I don't know if I would try this personally) is to put a breaker bar on the bolt. Use whatever you need to extend it, like putting a pipe on the handle to make it longer. Rest the end of the extended handle (if it needs extended) on the frame of the vehicle. Then try to start the engine using the starter. Just hit it for a second. The torque from the starter combined with the breaker bar on the bolt being jammed against the frame may be enough to snap it loose. However, you might also break a tooth on your fly wheel I would think. But I know this has worked for people in the past. "

Thanks guys I finally got it and put it back together tried to start it and now the timing is off I need help with timing it please...
