drove my car a bunch today its a 99 cavalier z24 with a 2.4ld9 drove on the highway for about an hour but when i got off everytime i went around a corner i hear a loud poping/banging sound as well as loose control a little. i also noticed a small amount of clutch slippage in the last while. when driving straight the car seems fine but as soon as i crank to go around a corner bam. thinkin its the tranny but not really sure. any help would be great thx guys

I can think of three things.. ONE, only cause it JUST happened to me, check your lug nuts on the front wheels, torque them down to 100ft-lbs to make sure they are tight (I snapped two studs, and the other three nuts were loose)
TWO - Wheel bearing going... Jack the front of the car up and wiggle the wheel left to right, top to bottom.
THREE - Bad CV Joint.. Go to an empty parking lot, crank the wheel and slowly make a circle... Do it the other way... Listen for clicking sounds (try this after you check the bearings for play)

Thats my 2 cents... hope it helps

Thanks i will check all those things. it could be the cv joints as i have had a problem with them making a clicking sound for sometime. i am going to check the springs as well, the front right side of my car looks a little lower than the front left side. going to have it looked at this week by a friend will post results thanks
