I have a 95 grand am 2.3 quad4 at w/od. car gets up to temp then spudders and dies. most of the time it wont start back up right away but some times it will. The cooling fan wont come on if the temp sensor is connected. temp sensor is NEW. cooling fan doesnt come on when A/C is on either unless temp sensor is disconnected.
Okay so you need a scan tool to see what the temp sensor is reading.
A faulty temp sensor can cause hard start/stalling. Since the computer uses the ECT sensor as an input for fuel metering, it will give more fuel for a cold engine, and less for a faully warm engine.
