I am trying to figure out what the hole is on the head of the ecotec block to the right of the intake manifold it looks like something to do with coolant maybe from the head. it has two screw holes on opposite sides of the hole. if pictures are needed i can get some it would just take me a while. but i really need help with this im almost done building this ecotec from scratch and i need it for school in march so any help is appreciated.

its for the non existent EGR.
the coverplate that is there needs to be in place though.
there's also a 'triangle' thing coming off the driver side of the head that has a larger 2 bolt cover.. thats also the EGR system..
again, never used on our ecotecs.. but the coverplates need to be there.
the only way you can get away with it is if you have a header that doesn't have an EGR channel, in which case no exhaust would make its way in there.
Thank you flying skwir. egr system was all i needed to know i still wanna know why though they would still cast that on the head if its not used?
