well i destroyed the lower end of my 03 Eco due to heat seizing... so my question i have found another engine it is a eco from 03 or an 04 sunfire, the guy said he needs to check if the vins line up or something also the engine is auto i have a standard will they mate up or will i need a coupler of some sort...

All you have to do is remove the flexplate and install the flywheel off your dead engine and it will drop right in.

ok awesome tinkles what about the vins do they need to match or is that just a waste of time? alos anyhting different with the wiring? being that it is an auto? found out today that it is a 05 eco so thats a bonus

Matching the VINS? WTF.. the guys is just being a dumb ass douche bag...

An L61 is an L61.....

Like tinkels said.... if the new engine had an auto tranny and your has a manual.... just remove the flexplate from the new one and install your flywheel, pressure plate, and clutch on it from your old engine and you'll be fine.
