my check engine light is on wont go off coad is readin no problems tryed gas cap.???????????????? what else
was there a code before you put a new gas cap on?... you didnt really give us much info to work with here... for the engine light to go off the codes that are there need to be erased
yes the light will com and go but sometimes it stayes on a long time i had it coded it read that everything is ok. iv had it erased it just comes back neever changed the gas cap yet, it lookes fine thoa.
If the light comes back there is a code. Take it somewhere else to get it read maybe the place you went to don't have the correct equipment for your make /model.They won't tell you that they'll just tell you they are all the same which is just not true.
I see you have an automatic. If it comes and goes it might be because your shifter is not fully in gear. Sometimes that happens to me and I just throw it in neutral and then back to drive.
