Okay, I'm curious to see everyone is running in their Js at the moment.
I''m prepping the wifie's 03 for a road trip, and one of the things I'm doing is changing the coolant. Cav is currently running Dex(cool)
The issue I'm having is that no one wants to do a Dex flush and fill. Everyone wants to use the all in one coolant.
All the Dex issues don't bother me, as I've had no issues with mine at all.
If I have to, I guess I could use the BG all in one (stuff dealerships use) and go with that....
Huh?
What do you mean no one will do a DexCool flush?
Lots of independant shops do them, and the dealership should to.
I dont trust this one size fits all coolant
- 2004 Cavalier - 124k, owned since new
I run Zerex, Comes recommended by the guy that built my motor, and pretty much what he says is law
just use dex-cool, i have never seen a place or dealer here that wouldnt do it, gm recommends it, its not hard to do it yourself either if u really want to save the money because its not worth what most places will charge, dex-cool helps lubricate the water pump
if it can't win a race it better win a show

Well, with all the "issues" it had (long debate there), very few run Dex here anymore.
Even the local GM dealerships don't run Dex here. Funny part that it is a bit harder to find here too. Even harder to find G-05, (Only local Napa carries it)
If it wasn't the family ride, I'd just put in something new and not think too much about it.
Even the Indy shops won't touch it...which is really funny...

And she stays nice and cool? I'm guessing that it is the all in one too...
Peak and Zerex seem to be the choices I wa thinking of....

I assume your taliking about the Sicila (spelling?) compound in it?

show your work. the water pump bearing, the only thing needing lubrication, is a sealed, pre lubed unit. if the coolant were getting to where it would be "lubricating" the water pump, it would actually be washing away the lube that was already there.

works just fine, found the last 2 gallons that napa had. going to get 2 more just in case. Its not green or orange. its like a yellowish clear. but he swears by it and told the guy i bought my motor from, its the best
