Inoticed my 96 vert with 2.4s temp guage looking a little higher than normal and then I hear this rattly popping sound. I shut the car off and its still coming from my coolant resivoir. The whole area was soaked, the seal on the top appeared ok and I don't see any cracks.

Any suggestions?

When is the last time the coolant has been flushed? Sounds to me like either 1, the resevoir cap failed, or 2, theres a blockage somewhere and it caused the engine to over-heat and shoot coolant out of the res.

Run the car till your at normal operating temps, then shut it off. Feel the lower radiator hose to make sure coolant is circulating (would be hot)

Thanks for the advice, it hasnt been flushed since ive owned it. I went back out there after everything was dry and let it run and water was leaking from under the lid. I will check the lower radiator hose tomorrow and maybe flush the radiator this weekend.
