Hi, i have a 1999 cavalier z24 .. last few days, my been acting up on me! As soon as i go for a fast acceleration on 1st on 3rd gear the electrical turn off.. it wont come back on until a press the brake pedal! .. looks strange to me, i have the GM Dealers Manual with me, cant find nothing!

Check the battery terminals be sure they are clean and tight. Also check the ground wire from battery negative to the tray under the battery just to start. It is most probably caused by a loose wire or faulty contact (corrosion or not tight enough).

my old z used to do this on a hard bumps..never fixed it..just stayed away from bumps
I have a friend who had the same problem. It ended up being the negative battery wire where it grounds to the battery tray.
