well, after ten days of messing with my car I finally got it fixed.
It was overheating real bad and I was thinking it was the water pump. First I changed the thermostat, no help. Then looked real hard at the water pump, no leak and checked it with a mirror and light and the impeller was fine. Flushed the system a few times, ran water both ways through the block. Finally, one member said that he thought I should really have the test for exhaust gases in my coolant. So, I filled it back up with Dexron, replaced the thermostat and drove it down today and got the verdict. First the good, no blown head gasket, then the bad, didn't know what the problem was. Just before I left he said maybe I should just change the cap to the overflow tank, which I did and which promptly cured my problem.
Couple guys said to check that cap and I didn't, should've listened.
